What is NetFlow and What Can It Do for You?

When network problems surface, are you able to quickly identify and address the issues to keep your network performing optimally? Understanding network traffic and how it flows is essential when trying to resolve issues, or even when analyzing the bandwidth usage needs of your subscribers.  With Netflow (and IPFIX), you're able to capture and view key information about how your traffic is flowing and what those packets are carrying.  For example, you can see where traffic is flowing to, where it is coming from, your top talkers, and which applications and protocols are most popular.

In the video below, Rick Yuzzi provides insight into what NetFlow is and how it works. You can also see what information can be viewed in a NetFlow Collector application.
