DDoS attacks have continued to increase in number and sophistication, including those that can now leverage consumer IoT devices as a part of the attack. Who is behind DDoS attacks and what is their motivation? There are different reasons why DDoS attacks are launched, from theft or revenge against a specific target, to simply the thrill of bringing down a network.
